Orient the part

The model needs to be correctly oriented within the mold before analyses are run. Models are usually oriented so that the cavity side of the mold is oriented towards the sprue.

1. Click the bottom view of the ViewCube.
   
   
2. Currently, the open section of the model is presented towards the sprue, so the model will need to be rotated 180 about the x-axis.
   
   
3. Click (Geometry tab > Layout panel > Rotate) to open the Rotate dialog.
4. Click on the model to activate the Rotate dialog. The model turns pink and the dialog box becomes interactive.
5. Select Use part center.
6. Click twice on the button associated with the X text box, then click Apply.
   
   The model is now oriented correctly within the mold.
