Mesh Tools-Stitch Free Edges tool

In the Input parameters section of the dialog, select the nodes which define the free edge to stitch. Specify the stitch tolerance; nodes closer than this will be merged.

In the Selection option section of the dialog, choose whether you want to use a filter.

Note: Many of the mesh tools involve selecting or manipulating nodes. Ensure that the nodes in the part are visible and selectable by activating the required layers in the Layers pane.

The distance between the nodes to be merged is the tolerance, and the default tolerance is based on the global edge length internally. You can specify a tolerance of your choice if you want.

Dialog elements

Select
Allows you to select the nodes belonging to the free edges that you want to stitch together.
Stitch Tolerance
Specifies the distance between the edges that you want to stitch together. Nodes that are closer than the specified tolerance will be merged.

Either accept the default, or select Specify and enter the required stitch tolerance.

Create as
Allows you to simultaneously create a modeling entity and assign properties to it.
For example
  • You can create a curve and assign runner properties to it.
  • You can create a region and assign part surface properties to it.

In some cases you have the option to Create as modeling entity. No properties will be assigned. This option may be appropriate if, for example, you are creating curves to construct a region. You must assign properties to the region, but you don't need to assign properties to the curves.

Tip: To change the properties of an entity, click Change.
Filter
The filter helps you select a desired model or mesh entity. When you use a filter, the pointer will snap to the specified entity.
