Modify CAD Surfaces

The Modify CAD Surfaces tools enable you to perform CAD design optimization within Autodesk Moldflow Insight, without having to export your model, modify the CAD in a CAD package, and re-import it.

The Modify CAD Surfaces tools allow you to:

• Increase or reduce the thickness of the part,
• Change the diameter of a cylinder or a circular section,
• Move an entire section, such as the position of ribs, holes or bosses,
• Preserve fillets and chamber by keeping the same radius.

CAD modifications that you specify, and save, will be available as variables in the Parametric Study Builder to give you further advice on CAD geometry optimisation.
