Thermocouple controlled cooling inlet dialog-Valve On and Valve Off tabs

To access this dialog, click Coolant Inlets / Outlets (Boundary Conditions tab > Cooling panel) and select Thermocouple Controlled Inlets.

Property Description
Coolant control Select an option for setting a flow rate in the cooling channel:
  • Specified flow rate.
  • Specified pressure
  • Specified Reynolds number
  • Total Flow-rate (All Circuits).
Flow rate Available if you select Specified flow rate for Coolant control.

Enter the flow rate of coolant in the cooling channel.

When the valve is turned off, a flow rate of 0.0 is also allowed. It means the coolant is stationary in the cooling circuit.

Pressure Available if you select Specified pressure for Coolant control.

Enter a total pressure for the cooling channel.

Coolant Reynolds number Available if you select Specified Reynolds number for Coolant control.

Enter a Reynolds number to be achieved in the cooling channel. The recommended setting is 10,000.

Flow rate (All circuits) Available if you select Total Flow-rate (All circuits) for Coolant control.

Enter the total flow rate through the cooling system. The total flow rate is divided among the circuits according to their pressure drops.

Coolant inlet temperature Enter a coolant temperature at the inlet.
