Move Nodes tool

Use the Move Nodes command to either move one or more nodes to an absolute location, or, move one or more nodes by a relative offset.

To use this tool, click Move Nodes (Mesh tab > Mesh Repair panel > Move Nodes).

In the Input parameters section of the dialog, select the nodes you want to move.

In the Location section of the dialog, indicate where you would llike to move the selected nodes.

In the Selection option section of the dialog, indicate whether you would like to use filtering and if so, the type of filtering.

Note: Many of the mesh repair tools involve selecting or manipulating nodes. Ensure that the nodes in the part are visible and selectable by activating the required layers in the Layers pane.

Tip: You can drag a triangle node by clicking on the node and dragging it to the new position. You can also drag beam nodes in the same manner, however, selecting a node on a beam element will activate a modeling plane.

Dialog elements

Nodes to move
Specifies the nodes which will be moved.
Location
Specifies the position to which the nodes will be moved.
Absolute
Specifies that the node(s) will be moved to the specified absolute coordinate position.
Relative
Specifies that the node(s) will be moved the specified distance and direction from the original node position(s).
Create as
Allows you to simultaneously create a modeling entity and assign properties to it.
For example
  • You can create a curve and assign runner properties to it.
  • You can create a region and assign part surface properties to it.

In some cases you have the option to Create as modeling entity. No properties will be assigned. This option may be appropriate if, for example, you are creating curves to construct a region. You must assign properties to the region, but you don't need to assign properties to the curves.

Tip: To change the properties of an entity, click Change.
Filter
The filter helps you select a desired model or mesh entity. When you use a filter, the pointer will snap to the specified entity.
