The Fiber length averaged by number result is generated by a Fill or Fill+Pack analysis, when the option to perform Fiber orientation analysis if fiber material is enabled, the option to Calculate fiber breakage is enabled, and the selected molding material is a long-fiber composite material.
It shows the length of fibers after breakage has occurred during the injection molding process, averaged by the number of fibers.
For a 3D part, use a cutting plane to view the averaged fiber length through the part. Animating this result will show areas of the part that all have the same average fiber length.
For midplane and Dual Domain models, this result is laminate-based and so the fiber length distribution on the normalized thickness locations can be displayed or animated through the part.
To add the Fiber length averaged by number result to the display, click , then on the Result Selection tab, select Fiber length averaged by number from the list of available results, and select a plot type to display. Animation plot is the default plot type selection.
