The accuracy of Autodesk Moldflow analyses depends on the shape of meshing elements.
Ideally the triangles should be close to equilateral. Elements with too high
aspect ratio or
too close centroids affects the accuracy of the calculation.
Diagnostic
Visually inspect your model or use the Aspect Ratio Diagnostic tool to detect problems in the element shapes.
Solution
High aspect ratio and too close centroids errors are often due to very small features, slivers or fillets.
- If the features causing the defects are not essential to the analysis, remove them to get a simplified and still functional model.
- If you can not simplify your model, assign local meshing parameters to the defective area using the local mesh density tool.
