One-sided constraint dialog

This dialog is used to set the properties associated with one-sided constraints for Stress, Warp, or Core shift analysis.

To access this dialog to edit the properties of an existing one-sided constraint, select a one-sided constraint symbol in the model pane, then either select Edit (Geometry tab > Properties panel > Edit), or right-click and select Properties).

Widget Explanation
Nodal translation in + direction The nodal translation constraint must be defined along all three axes; X axis, Y axis, and Z axis. For all three axes, the options are:
  • Fixed - this is the default setting
  • Free - this option means that there is no translational constraint along this axis
  • Specified Max - enter a distance in mm
Nodal translation in - direction The nodal rotation constraint must be defined along all three axes; X axis, Y axis, and Z axis. For all three axes, the options are:
  • Fixed - this is the default setting
  • Free - this option means that there is no rotational constraint along this axis
  • Specified Max - enter a distance in mm
Use constraint in Nodal constraints can be set for core shift analyses.
Name Enter a unique name for these nodal constraint parameters, to distinguish it from others you may set up for different analyses, or with different parameters.
