Gas Volume Controller Settings dialog

This dialog is used to specify the settings for a volume control Gas-assisted injection controller for the selected gas entrance.

To access this dialog, make sure that you have selected a Gas-assisted Injection Molding in your analysis sequence.

Click (Boundary Conditions tab > Gas panel > Set Entrances), then click New or Edit. In the Gas entrance dialog, click Edit to open the Gas-assisted injection controller dialog. Select Gas volume controller from the drop-down menu, and click Edit controller settings.

Dialog elements

Widget Explanation
Gas injection time

Specifies the amount of time the gas is injected into the mold.

Maximum gas pressure

Specifies the maximum allowable pressure that can be used to inject gas into the mold.

Gas volume control

Enables you to specify settings for the volume of gas to be used during injection phase of a gas-assisted flow analysis. You can specify the following options:

Plunger travel time
Specifies the amount of time the gas plunger is moving to compress the gas in the cylinder.
Initial pressure
Specifies the initial pre-charged pressure on the gas within the compression cylinder, before it is compressed by the gas plunger.
Piston volume
Specifies the volume of the hydraulic piston on the injection molding machine.
Gas-line volume
Specifies the volume of the gas-injection line between the compression cylinder and the gas injection point.
%Gas volume vs %time

Specifies the amount of gas volume throughput in relation to the plunger travel time.
