Fiber length probability distribution result

The Fiber length probability distribution result is generated at specified nodes by a Fill or Fill+Pack analysis, when the option to perform Fiber orientation analysis if fiber material is enabled, the selected molding material is a long-fiber composite material, and the option to Calculate fiber breakage is enabled.

Note: To produce this result, before starting the analysis, on the Fiber breakage parameters dialog the option to Output fiber length probability profile must be set to Yes, and the node numbers at which to generate the probability distribution must be specified in the Fiber probability node list dialog.

It shows the probability distribution of the fiber length at the specified nodes.

Using this result

For Dual Domain and Midplane models, the averaged distribution of fiber length through the thickness is shown. This is a time series result and so the fiber length changes can be shown through out time.

For 3D models, it is the distribution of fiber length at each node. This result can specify a node to have this result plotted against. This plot is only shown at the last time step.

To add the Fiber length probability distribution result to the display, click Results tab > New Plot > Plots, then on the Result Selection tab, select Fiber length probability distribution from the list of available results, and select XY plot type to display.
