Generate 3D Channel Mesh Dialog

To access this dialog:

  1. Ensure that the properties of your 3D channel body are set to Channel (3D).
  2. Choose an Analysis Sequence that includes Cool(FEM).
  3. Assign Channel (3D) Inlets and Channel (3D) Outlets ( (Boundary Conditions tab > Cooling panel > Channel (3D) Inlets / Channel (3D) Outlets). There should be an equal number of conformal cooling inlets and outlets.
Widget Explanation
Max edge length for 3D channels Allows you to define the maximum edge length of elements. The default value is 10 mm. To get a smoother mesh, lower this value or apply a resolution factor.
Resolution factor Allows you to apply a factor to the edge length, that is automatically defined. The default value of this factor is 1. Mesh a first time and if you are not happy with the automatic edge length, apply a different resolution factor to modify the edge length.
Fluid gap elements Defines the minimum number of layers for thin regions, where Enhancement layers do not apply.
Enhancement layers Defines the minimum number of layers between the normal or inside layers and the surface.
Note: Local mesh density defined on 3D channels does not apply.
