After you ensure that your model is clean and you defined the pre-meshing settings, the next step is to mesh.
Although you chose a mesh type when you imported the CAD model, the mesh has not been generated at this stage. Two mesh types are supported for CAD:
Dual Domain
3D
Even if you aim for a 3D mesh, the first step is to generate a quality Dual Domain mesh as basis before you convert your surface mesh to 3D.
Note: In the
Layers pane, select the CAD body layers that you want meshed on the model. Only the visible model layers are meshed.
- Ensure that the mesh type of the model is set to Dual Domain. Select

- Click the CAD tab and ensure that Use auto sizing option is selected
- Click Mesh Now. A Dual Domain mesh is created.
Note: You can adjust the edge length through a
Scale factor.
