To set how long the job server keeps results

Applies to 6.2 Update and later

You can elect to save the results in the temporary directory for a specified period, other than the default 7 days, before they are deleted by the Simulation Job Server.

When the analysis is finishes, the results are saved for 7 days (168 hours), by default, in the temporary directory. You can change this value to a minimum 0 hours, up to a maximum 10 years, in 1-hour increments.

To change how long the Job Server keeps the results:

  1. On the server machine, open the dsspjobclient.config file using a text editor. By default, this is:
    • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Simulation Job Manager\dsspjobclient.config, on Windows
    • $INSTALLATION/autodesk-dssp-20YY-thinclient-XXX/bin/dsspjobclient.config, on Linux Thin Client
    • /etc/opt/Autodesk/dssp/dsspjobclient.config, on Linux Workstation

      where 20YY refers to the software release year and XXX is the Thin Client version number.

  2. Add a new value called
    • "dssp_jobserver_keeptmpdirhours"
  3. Determine the number of hours you would like the results to be saved and append this number to the new value.

For example, to save the results for 72 hours, type:

"dssp_jobserver_keeptmpdirhours":72
