Export Warpage Mesh/Geometry dialog

This dialog is used to export the deformed geometry predicted from a Warp analysis as an STL, UDM, or CAD file format.

The geometry can be exported either with the actual deflections, or with the opposite deflection, that is, a representation of how the mold would need to be tooled to compensate for the predicted warpage.

To access this dialog, ensure you have selected a Deflection result in the Study Tasks pane. Click Results > Export and Publish > Warp Shape

Widget Explanation
Format
  • ASCII STL: Click this option if you wish to export the Warp Mesh/Geometry file in a ASCII STL file format.
  • Binary STL: Click this option if you wish to export the Warp Mesh/Geometry file in a Binary STL file format.
  • Model File: Click this option if you want to export the Warp Mesh/Geometry file in a Moldflow file format.
  • CAD File: Click this option if you want to export the Warp Mesh/Geometry file in a CAD file format.
Unit Choose
Direction Allows you to specify the direction that you want the warp deflection to be exported and displayed within another application.

This is either the Actual or Opposite direction.

Select either the Actual or Opposite option button after choosing a Format type, and click OK to open the Save As dialog.

  • Actual: Allows you to export the Actual Warp deflection mesh geometry result.

Select the Actual option button after choosing a Format type, and click OK to open the Save As dialog.

  • Opposite: Allows you to export the Opposite Warp deflection mesh geometry result, which is set at (-1) opposite deflection.

Select the Opposite option button after choosing a Format type, and click OK to open the Save As dialog.

Scale factor Specifies the magnification factor that the warpage results will be exported in. The higher number you enter, the more profound the warpage will appear on the model, allowing for easier warpage visualization.
OK/Close Closes the dialog and, where applicable, saves any changes you have made.
Cancel Click Cancel to close this dialog without saving any changes you have made.
