Parametric Study Builder - Comparison Criteria tab

The results to be considered by the parametric study are selected in the Comparison Criteria tab.

The Comparison Criteria that are available for selection depend on factors such as the molding process, mesh type, analysis sequence and material selected.

Select a Comparison Criteria from the left-hand panel, and the right-hand panel is updated with the result that is applied to that criteria and a brief description of how to use the result.

The types of results that are generated depend on the variable selected.

Note: When a green tick appears in the tab, there is enough information to proceed to the next tab of the Study Builder. Without a green tick, the analysis will not launch.

If Warp is included in the optimization, the following applies.

New Warp Criterion

If you have run an analysis sequence that includes Warp, an option New Warp Criterion is available. This criterion reports a warpage in relation to a specified plane. The plane is a critical dimension that must be defined before the Parametric study is launched.

Click New Warp Criteria, select the applicable result. The Critical Dimensions drop-down list enables you to select a specific critical dimension by the name it was assigned upon creation.

Critical dimensions are set in the Tools panel. Select Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Boundary Conditions > Dimensions panel > Critical Dimensions > Optimization

Warpage best fit was deactivated

A warpage analysis, by default, applies a Best fit to the warpage results, based on the variance within the part. The different processing conditions specified in an optimization will result in different variances being applied to each study. To ensure an accurate comparison between studies, the Best fit default is removed prior to the optimization analysis. This is reported in the Analysis Log.
