Options dialog-Results tab

The Results tab of the Options dialog is used to select the default results that are listed in the Study Tasks pane after an analysis has been performed.

Default results

Lists all the results that will be displayed by default under the Results node in the Study Tasks pane following an analysis.

The results are grouped into folders by category, for example, Flow , Cool, Warp, etc. The individual folders can be expanded or collapsed by double-clicking on them. You can change the order of the entries in the list by clicking Order.

To add a result to the default results list, click Add/Remove. Select the result from the All results list and click >>.

To remove a result from the default results list, click Add/Remove. Select the result from the Default results list and click <<.

Tip: A result that has not been added to the default results list can be accessed by right-clicking on the Results node in the Study Tasks pane and selecting Create New Plot.
Widget Explanation
Optimize memory for results display Provides options for memory optimization when viewing results on complex 3D models, or models that have a large amount of beam segments.
Display 1D elements as segments
Display all 2-noded elements in the model, for example runners, cooling channels, as line segments rather than the standard 3D representation.
This can provide an increase in speed and reduce the memory requirements when viewing results on large models.
Second unit system for results display

Display a second unit in the legend of plots values.

By default, the legend of results plots will display the result values in the program units you have selected on the General tab of this dialog. If you want plot legends to display the result values in a second unit as well, select the desired entry in this drop-down menu.

Deflection query tolerance

The value entered here defines the deflection query tolerance, measured in mm. The default value is 0.01 mm.

When you query deflection results, deflections less than the tolerance value are displayed as no deflection. You may need to adjust this value to achieve meaningful results. For example, you may need to set a larger deflection query tolerance if your part dimensions are large, or you may need to set a smaller tolerance value if your part quality criteria include strict deflection tolerances.

Result Display Font Allows you to customize the font type and size of the plots name, legend bar and ruler of the graphic window.
Add/Remove...

Opens the Add/Remove Default Results dialog, where you can select the default results to be generated and displayed under the Results node in the Study Tasks pane after an analysis.

Order...

Opens the Order of Default Results dialog, where you can change the order in which the default results are displayed under the Results node in the Study Tasks pane.

Duplicated Studies

There are three ways of duplicating studies, including when using Save Study As command:

Duplicate Study - include all result files: creates a complete carbon copy of results which belong to the new study.

Duplicate Study - do not include any result files: creates a study without copying or linking any existing results.

Duplicate Study - include results linked from the original study is the legacy and default behavior. The duplication forms a link from the duplicated study to the original study's result files, creating a shared environment specific to results.
