UI Elements

The editor consists of the following areas:

Configuration: Lists name, description, and type of Configuration. The type can be changed here; changing the type also switches to the appropriate editor.

Note: Once switched away from type Simple, you cannot switch back, you can only switch between Diagram and Programmable.

Editor pane: Headed by a set of icons representing filters and operations, as well as editing and viewing switches, lies the main editor pane. In here, the toolpath-generating graph of functions is displayed and can be modified.

The blocks representing the individual functions will attempt to rearrange dynamically for best viewing experience. (This can be toggled to allow arranging blocks manually.) Note that the graph displayed applies to the current Build Strategy which is selectable from a drop-down list to the right of the Editor pane.

Properties pane: To the right of the Editor pane, Properties are listed, beginning with a drop-down list of Build Strategies and buttons to add, rename or duplicate, or delete the currently selected strategy.

Underneath you will find Layersize, specifying the thickness of layers, in a read-only field as a safeguard against accidental change.

Further down there are two tabs, Properties and Result, listing the properties of the currently selected block for display or modification, and displaying a compiled list of all filters and their Hatchstyle, respectively. A Hatchstyle is a collection of laser settings machine-specific to part sections such as support, filling, skin, skin along downskin, etc.

Build time calculation: Finally, a set of values can be specified to enable Netfabb provide an estimate for the building time.

Buttons: Ignore Change cancels your visit to the Configuration Editor. Delete Configuration deletes the entire set of Configuration including any build strategies. A confirmation dialog will be provided. Apply Changes saves changes and returns you to the list of Configurations, as does Apply and Select, except that this one sends you back directly to the Parts tabsheet. If you have created a new strategy, and want to use it, please mind that you would need to select it after returning to the Parts tabsheet.
