Import into Other Autodesk Programs

You can open your Photo-to-3D raster, mesh, or point cloud (RCS) export formats in other Autodesk programs. The proprietary RCS format can be opened in most Autodesk programs, RCM format (mesh) is exclusive to Autodesk ReMake, and common file export extensions can typically open in raster format in multiple programs, however often limiting the scene to a top-down view. GeoTIFF (ortho format) exports and RCS files should automatically retain the geolocation data, if available.

When opening an RCM or OBJ file in Autodesk ReMake, it is likely to treat your project's measurement in its default millimeters (mm). To specify your intended measurement, you will need to use the program's Set Scale & Unit feature:

  1. Select any 2 points in the scene
  2. Change the unit for distance in the dialog display
  3. Apply

Ortho exports will present a .zip file with 2 .tifs:

These rasters can be combined in Autodesk programs, such as InfraWorks 360™, in order to add 3D elevation to your GeoTIFF.
