Working with Targets

Place targets to improve the accuracy of a scan.

Another benefit of a ReCap 360 Pro subscription is the inclusion of advanced reporting tools for accuracy feedback. Targets are especially useful to improve registration in environments without a lot of point features, such as parking lots, long empty halls, tunnels, and landscapes. Targets for reporting can be placed with either checkerboard or sphere targets during or after the registration process. The tools are available from the main registration pane.

ReCap 360 supports targetless scans, meaning that the application does not require targets at any point before, during, or after the registration process; however, you can identify targets used during the scanning process during manual registration.

Targets can be named as you go. ReCap 360 will automatically look for and center the target on-click for precise measurement.

Once targets have been identified and placed throughout, results can be accessed through the reporting tool.

ReCap 360 will recognize your physical targets as long as they are in the standard identifiable format.
