ReCap 360 supports rectilinear cameras, as well as GoPro® Hero [3, 3+ Black Edition] cameras. For best project results, design your UAV mission with the following camera recommendations:
- Imagers such as those found in DJI's PHANTOM™ & INSPIRE™ and 3DR's SOLO™ platforms
- 12+ megapixels
- Active stabilizer (eg, 3-axis gimbal)
- Capture on a lower ISO to limit sensor noise
- Typically capture with a higher shutter speed / exposure
- Use the highest possible maximum
depth of field in order to clearly capture all levels/depths of the scene
- Fixed, small aperture for consistent, high-quality (unedited) images
Quick Tips:
- Images with more pixels produce superior results, however take longer to process
- More images might produce better coverage, however will take longer to process
- Camera settings should be manually set and fixed for the duration of a flight, including aperture, exposure time, ISO, and white balance
- Automated flight planning can facilitate consistent captures and better overall coverage, particularly by evading duplicate images
Note: There aren't many hard rules (past flying safely and acquiring stable images); plenty of variables including object or area to shoot, hardware availability, and your goals will determine how you plan to capture your scene.
