When you try to load a file into a
Revit model, the Schema Conflict message displays.
Issue
The file being loaded contains data in a schema. The
Revit model contains another schema that has the same ID as the schema in the file. If the file is loaded, the existing data will be erased from the model.
Schemas should have unique IDs. This issue generally occurs only when a vendor reuses software code in an add-in. In addition, some families downloaded from Autodesk Seek may result in this error.
Solution
Try one of the following solutions:
- Upgrade the
Revit software to the latest update release for 2017. These releases include software code that detects and removes the duplicate GUID storage correctly, avoiding this error when you try to update a family.
- If you encountered the error when loading a
Revit family, go to Autodesk Seek and download an updated edition of the family file. The vendor has provided updated family files that avoid this issue.
- If you use the Trace-It add-in by INVIEWlabs, upgrade to the latest version from
the Autodesk App Store.
- If you cannot upgrade your
Revit software or you do not have Trace-It installed, download the InviewLabs.CleanProject add-in from
the Autodesk App Store, and install it on your system. This add-in automatically resolves conflicts resulting from the Trace-It or Enigma schemas.
