Review the Results

We will now review the axial and bending stresses in the beams.

  1. Select Results Contours Stress Beam and Truss Axial Stress. The maximum tensile value is approximately 457 psi. The maximum compressive value is approximately -774 psi.  
  2. Select  Results Contours Stress Beam and Truss Bending about Axis 2.  The maximum tensile value is 20,329 psi. The maximum compressive value is -27,686 psi.
  3. Select  Results Contours Stress Beam and Truss Bending about Axis 3.  The maximum tensile value is 13,889 psi. The maximum compressive value is -9,314 psi.
  4. Select  Results Contours Stress Beam and Truss Worst Stress.  This command displays the combined axial and bending stresses. The maximum tensile value is 28,142 psi. The maximum compressive value is -15,295 psi. 
  5. Click Save on the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) to save your model.
