Problem Description

• Enable surface-splitting in Simulation Mechanical prior to opening the CAD model. This option is off by default.
• Use one of the following CAD models:
  • The file, Circuit Board.SimStudio, that you created in the previous tutorial
  • The file, Circuit Board.SimStudio, that is provided within your tutorial models folder (if you choose not to construct the CAD model yourself)
  • The file, Circuit Board.igs, provided within your tutorial models folder (if you chose not to install SimStudio Tools with Simulation Mechanical)
• If you are using a SimStudio CAD file, transfer the Circuit Board CAD model from SimStudio Tools into Simulation Mechanical.
  • Alternatively, if you chose not to install the SimStudio Tools application, open the provided CAD model, Circuit Board.igs, from the Simulation Mechanical Open dialog.
• Return the surface-splitting option to its default setting.
• Solid mesh the model using an absolute mesh size of 0.15 inch.
