After installing the Vault Server, you can install the Vault client on one or more machines.
Note: To install the Autodesk Vault clients, you must have either Microsoft Windows administrator privileges or power user privileges.
- Double-click setup.exe for the Vault Client installation.
- Click Install.
- Accept the License and Services Agreement and click Next.
- Select the product language that you want to install and click Next.
- Select whether you want to install the full Vault client or the Vault Office client and click next.
- If you want to customize which add-ins and applications are installed with the client, perform the following tasks. Otherwise, proceed to the next step.
Customize the Client Installation
- Click the down arrow beneath the selection.
- Select Custom under Installation Type.
- Select which add-ins and applications that you want to install.
Note: Vault Add-Ins for supported CAD applications can only log into the edition of the Vault Server that matches the edition of the Vault Client from which the Add-Ins are installed. For example, if you have a Vault Basic Client installed on your workstation, you cannot log into Vault Workgroup or Vault Professional Server from Inventor.
If you selected to install the Vault Office version of the stand-alone client, only the Microsoft Office add-in is listed.
Tip: Highlight a feature to see a description of it on the right.
Note: The host application (e.g., Autodesk Inventor or AutoCAD) must be installed on the system to be able to select the add-in for installation. If it is not, you can install the add-in later through
Add and Remove features.
- Decide whether to include any Service Packs, if prompted.
- Click Install to complete the installation.
