You can create a model by importing a bitmap image. Examples of files you can import include
.bmp,
.dib,
.rle,
.jpg,
.jpeg,
.jfif,
.gif,
.emf,
.wmf,
.tif,
.tiff,
.png, and
.ico. When creating a model from an image, you must specify the method by which you want to import the file.
To create a model by importing a bitmap image:
- Display the
Open dialog:
- If you have not yet created a model, click
Open on the start screen.
- If you have already created a model, select
File > Open.
- Select the file you want to import.
- Click
Open. The
Open dialog closes and the
Set Model Size dialog is displayed, which shows the
Height and
Width of the model.
- Select the
Units in which you want to work.
- Choose how you want to specify the size of the model. Select:
- Enter a
Height in Z value to specify the maximum height of the model.
- Click the centre or a corner of the white box to specify the
Origin of the model.
- Click
OK to create the model and import the bitmap image. The dialog closes and the image is displayed in the 3D view of the model screen.
