We added a command for creating Part References and enhanced the behavior of the component property Total Mass.
In previous releases, the component property Total Mass was available only in the GB standard. Its value was not generated automatically. This release we made this property available across all drafting standard. Its value is generated automatically by multiplying the Quantity component property by Mass.
The system automatically calculates the mass of assemblies by summing the Total Mass component property of the parts in that assembly.
We created a command, AMPARTREF_BLOCK, which jumps directly to the Block option of the AMPARTREF command. Although the new command does not provide any additional functionality, you now get the ability to repeat the command by pressing the Enter key.
No information is lost when you save a drawing containing the Total Mass component property to an older version of AutoCAD Mechanical. However, in an assembly, the Mass component property behaves as though it is entered manually.
The part references created by the new AMPARTREF_BLOCK command are not different from part references created by the AMPARTREF command. So no information is lost when you save a drawing to an older version of AutoCAD Mechanical.
In older versions of AutoCAD Mechanical, the mass of an assembly was not calculated automatically. Hence, when opening a drawing file of an older version, if the mass component property of an assembly contains data, we consider it an override. To make the system calculate the mass automatically, remove the override.
