We have made several enhancements to the AMCHAM2D, AMFILLET2D commands, while enhancing the way to edit hatches created by the AMHATCH family of commands.
Clicking hatches created by the AMASSOHATCH, AMHATCH_135_11, AMHATCH_135_2, AMHATCH_135_4, AMHATCH_45_13, AMHATCH_45_2, AMHATCH_45_5, and AMHATCH_DBL commands display the Hatch Editor contextual ribbon tab. The Pattern panel now contains the AutoCAD Mechanical specific hatch patterns, which were not available in previous releases.
The AMCHAM2D and AMFILLET2D commands now display a preview of what the chamfered or filleted corner looks like. After you select the first object for the chamfer or fillet, the selected object highlights. As you move the cursor over the second object, it highlights, and shows a preview of what the corner looks like if you select that object.

Example 1: AMCHAM2D Command

Example 2: AMFILLET2D Command
Both AMCHAM2D and AMFILLET2D now can extend or trim objects and join them without any chamfering or filleting. You achieve this behavior by shift-clicking an object, when the command prompts you to select the second object. The command line is enhanced to inform you that such an option exists.
You can now access the options for creating chamfers and fillets from a ribbon contextual panel. The ribbon contextual panel is displayed as soon as you start the AMCHAM2D or AMFILLET2D command and attaches itself to the ribbon tab that is current. If necessary, you can set the AMCHAM2DTAB and AMFILLET2DTAB system variables to 0 to stop the ribbon contextual tab from displaying.
Only the workflow for creating chamfers and fillets have changed. The manner in which they are saved has not changed. Hence, the chamfers and fillets created by the 2016 versions of AMCHAM2D and AMFILLET2D are identical to the chamfers and fillets created in previous releases. No information is lost when you save drawings to older versions of AutoCAD Mechanical.
