To access the subassemblies that are included in the
AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018.2 Update, add them a tool palette by importing them.
To import subassembly PKT files
- In the
Toolspace, on the
Toolbox tab, expand
AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018 Update 2
AutoCAD Civil 3D Subassemblies. Double-click
Import Civil 3D Subassemblies to display the
Import Subassemblies dialog box.
- In the
Import Subassemblies dialog box, click the browse button
, and navigate to the location of the PKT files.
The PKT files are installed by default to Imperial and Metric folders in the following location:
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\C3D
2018\enu\2018.2 Update Subassemblies\
Note: On some computers, the ProgramData folder may not be visible. For more information about viewing the ProgramData folder, see the following section.
- Open either the Imperial or Metric folder and select all of the PKT files you want to add to the tool palette. Click
Open.
- In the
Import Subassemblies dialog box, ensure that the
Tool Palette check box is selected in the lower part of the
Import Subassemblies dialog box.
- Click the tool palette list, scroll to the bottom of the list of tool palettes, and select
Create New Palette.
- In the
New Tool Palette dialog box, enter a name for the new palette and click OK.
- Optionally select the
Catalog Library/My Imported Tools check box to add the subassemblies to the My Imported Tools catalog in the Content Browser.
- Click OK.
To view the ProgramData folder
- Open the Windows Control Panel and click the Appearance and Personalization link.
- Under Folder Options or File Explorer Options, click Show Hidden Files and Folders.
- In the dialog box that is displayed, select Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives. Click OK.
