Changes to AutoCAD Civil 3D Drawing Templates

New drawing templates

The following drawing templates have been added to accommodate the ability to create plan/plan and profile/profile sheets in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018. The four new templates are based on the existing templates Civil 3D (Imperial) Plan and Profile.dwt and Civil 3D (Metric) Plan and Profile.dwt.

New DWT Description
  • Civil 3D (Imperial) Plan over Plan.dwt
  • Civil 3D (Metric) Plan over Plan.dwt
  • For both viewports, Viewport Type is set to Plan
  • For the top viewport, Viewport Order is set to 1
  • For the bottom viewport, Viewport Order is set to 2
  • Note: The Viewport Order specifies the order in which station ranges/view frames will be laid out in the sheet's viewports. In these templates, the viewports will be arranged in a top-down format, where the first station range will be in the top viewport, and the second station range will be in the bottom viewport.

Templates are not limited to two plan/plan or profile/profile viewports per sheet. You can add as many as will fit onto the sheet.

  • Civil 3D (Imperial) Profile over Profile.dwt
  • Civil 3D (Metric) Profile over Profile.dwt
  • For both viewports, Viewport Type is set to Profile
  • For the top viewport, Viewport Order is set to 1
  • For the bottom viewport, Viewport Order is set to 2
