Carbon footprint

The carbon footprint is a measure of the amount of carbon dioxide gas produced by the production of the part.

Publically available data is the basis for the carbon footprint contribution to the Plastic material impact indicator.

Data source: PlasticsEurope http://www.plasticseurope.org

To view the carbon footprint information, click Home tab > Plastic Material Impact panel > Information.

A dialog appears displaying the Carbon footprint rating of the family of plastics to which the selected material belongs. The Alert panel on the same dialog will define any carbon footprint alerts.

Carbon footprint calculation

To calculate the carbon footprint, the amount of Carbon dioxide produced when making the raw material needed to manufacture this part is multiplied by the weight of the part.
