To access the help

There is a plethora of information available online and offline to help you become conversant, and expert with this software. The default setting is online help.

Attention: If you are accessing the online help from behind a proxy server, you may see an error message stating that you do not have an internet connection. To resolve this problem, set a system environment variable:

To set the system environment variable

  1. Type 'environment variable' into your Windows search box and select Edit the system environment variables.
  2. On the Advanced tab, click Environment Variables.
  3. Click the New button associated with the System variables list.
  4. Enter ADSK_MF_USING_ONLINE for the Variable name.
  5. Enter 1 for the Variable value.
  6. Click OK until all the dialog boxes are closed.
Note: You may be required to restart your system.

To switch to offline help

  1. Click the Language and Help System tab.
  2. Select Use local help from the Help System section of the dialog.
  3. Click OK to save the changes and close the dialog.

To download offline help

Attention: You need an internet connection to download the offline help.
  1. Download the offline Help from the drop-down menu next to the ? help button in the top right corner.
  2. Launch the executable.
  3. Select a folder where you want the local Help installed. By default, the Help installs to:

    C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Autodesk Moldflow Design 2018.1\help
