To create a point, select Construct tab > Geometry panel > Point.
When a point is needed, a message is displayed on the
Assistance bar, such as
Pick first point. The coordinates for that point are shown in yellow on the dialog bar.
Use one of the following methods to specify the location of a point:
- Enter the point coordinates into the yellow fields on the
Feature/Geometry Edit bar, then click
Create. This method is used for entering the exact location relative to the UCS, such as when reading from a drawing.
- Pick the point with the mouse in the graphics window. Use the appropriate snap mode to pick precise locations such as intersections or tangent points. This method is typically used when the point you want is relative to another piece of geometry.
You do not usually need to create point objects, instead you can use
snapping to locate points when creating geometry.
