Turning Diameter — Select how to enter coordinates when creating a Turning model:
- 3D (XYZ) — Enter coordinates as X Y Z values.
- Radius (RZ) — Enter coordinates as a radius and Z coordinate.
- Diameter (DZ) — Enter coordinates as a diameter and Z coordinate.
Turning Z Direction — Select the direction of the Z axis:
- Negative Z into the stock — When you enter Z coordinates, positive values are away from the stock and negative values are into the stock. The coordinate system is aligned in the Graphics window to show this.
- Positive Z into the stock — When you enter Z coordinates, positive values are into the stock and negative values are away from the stock. The coordinate system is aligned in the Graphics window to show this.
Note: This setting affects Z coordinates you enter in
FeatureCAM, but does not affect the NC code.
Decimal Places Displayed — Select the number of decimal places displayed:
- English — The number of decimal places displayed in models using English units (inches).
- Metric — The number of decimal places displayed in models using metric units (mm).
Select the number of decimal places from the lists. For example if you want four decimal places displayed, select
0.1234.
Note: Some dialog fields may not be wide enough to display the selected number of decimal places. If this is the case, select the value in the field and press the left and right arrow keys on the keyboard to scroll.
Warp dialogs — Select this option to enable auto-minimization of dialogs. To provide you with more space in the graphics window,
FeatureCAM automatically minimizes some dialogs by default. For example, the
Select Stock Curve dialog minimizes into a small title bar when you click the
Pick Curve
button.
When the dialog is minimized, the cursor shape changes to
. This indicates you need to select an object in the graphics window. When you select the object, the dialog is restored. If you want to restore the dialog without making a selection, click the
button in the small title bar.
