What Are Content Packs?

Content packs are collections of locale- and discipline-specific files to install with Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D. The available content packs allow you to work on US or international projects and always reference the appropriate standards for each geographical region.

To access the Select Content section of the installation wizard, under Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D 2018, click Click to Open and Configure and scroll down to the Select Content section.

Note: You can also add or remove content after installation, and download additional content packs from www.autodesk.com/civil3d-countrykits.

Files contained in content packs can include the following data:

You must install at least one content pack. You can select the Civil 3D Metric or Civil 3D Imperial profiles, or any available country profile.

You can choose to create a desktop shortcut for each content pack by modifying the value in the Desktop Shortcut column.

The Select Content section has an option to add additional content packs that you may have created yourself or obtained from another source. To install an additional content pack not shown in the default list, click Add Content to select the content pack .xml file. After adding a new content pack, the content pack appears at the top of the list under Additional Content Packs.

Each content pack may install a separate program group, which allows you to create a content pack shortcut if it was not created using the installation wizard.
