Change the default Maya Help Preference setting

To make a locally stored version of Maya Help available from within the product, you need to change the default Help preference setting.

To change the Help preference setting:

1. Start Maya.
2. Open the Help preferences window by selecting Windows > Settings/Preferences > Preferences.

   The Preferences window appears.

3. Under Interface, click Help.
4. In the Help Location section, select the Language, select Custom, and enter the path where you copied the Help.
   Note: If you copied the Help to a shared location, click the icon to browse to the shared location of the Help, or type the directory of http path directly in the Custom field.
5. Click Save and exit the Preferences window.

   The Maya Help is now available from the Help, F1, and context-sensitive help menus.
