Set up multiple tasks, and schedule them to run in a sequence at a specified time.
Tasks you set up sequentially are called subtasks. You can use predefined and custom subtasks in a sequential task. A subtask can depend on the output of the previous subtask, as in the following example, in which subtasks 2 and 3 are dependent:
- Import Files
- Update Design
- Print Files
- In the Inventor Task Scheduler window, click Sequential Tasks . .The information in the task list switches to show any sequential tasks that you saved previously.
- In the Inventor Task Scheduler window, right-click, and select Create Task Sequential Tasks. Sequential Tasks.
- If the current subtask depends on the output of a previous subtask, in the Sequential Task dialog, select Use Output of the Previous Task.
- Click Add. Click a task type to open the corresponding task manager dialog box.
-
In the Task Manager dialog, define the subtask as though it is a regular task. Subtasks do not require scheduling information.
- In the Task Manager dialog box, click OK.
- To change the order of the subtasks, use the Up and Down buttons.
- In the Task Properties box, enter a task name and a time-out threshold.
- Specify a schedule, or select the Immediately option.
- Click OK.
