Applies an axial moment of a specified magnitude to a beam you select.
Axial moment is applied in the plane perpendicular to the beam axis. It is defined in beam coordinate system only.
| Access: | Ribbon:
Frame Analysis tab Loads panel Axial Moment |
| Origin | The command is active when the dialog box is displayed. Select a beam on which to apply the load. When you specify the origin, the other options in the dialog box activate. |
| Magnitude | Set the magnitude of the axial moment. |
| Offset | Specify the offset of the axial moment. |
| OK | Create the load and close the dialog box. |
| Cancel | Close the dialog box without creating the load. |
| Apply | Create the load and keep the dialog box open. Click when you want to create multiple loads. |
| (More) | Expands the dialog box to reveal additional controls for specifying the force vector. |
| Coordinate System | Specify the coordinate system where the force is acting. |
| Offset | Select if the offset value is entered as relative, or absolute. The relative distance means factor of absolute distance from the beam beginning. The value can be from 0 to 1. For example, if you have 3-inch long beam and you set relative distance to 0.5 ul, the absolute origin distance is computed to 1.5 inch. |
