To Add Conduit Segment Length and Stock Number Properties

The conduit segment length property (with an internal name of Base Qty) specifies the length of conduit parts . The stock number property (with an internal name of Stock Number) stores the raw material descriptions for conduit parts and fittings. You can add them to drawing templates or existing drawing documents. You can also add other needed properties.

You may also need to check whether the Bill of Materials (BOM) table in a drawing document contains the Base Qty and Stock Number properties. Use the Choose Columns and Add Custom iProperties Columns command to drag them from the Customization list to the table as needed.

Note: To edit drawing templates using Style and Standard Editor, you must enable the Styles Library for the project.

Add to parts lists in drawing templates or specific drawing documents

Add the Base Qty and Stock Number properties to drawing templates so that all parts lists that are created from the templates contain these columns by default. You can also add them to parts lists in specific drawing documents.

1. Start with either of the following:
   • With a drawing template open, click Manage tab Styles and Standards panel Styles Editor . In the Styles and Standards Editor dialog box, expand Parts List to Parts List (standard-AIP). You can then add Base Qty and Stock Number to the default column settings and set the group settings using them.
   • In a specific drawing document, right-click the parts list, and then select Edit Parts List. You can then edit the columns and group settings for the parts list.
2. Click Column Chooser on either of the following:
   • For a drawing template, Manage tab Styles and Standards panel Styles Editor (Styles and Standards Editor dialog box)Parts ListParts List (standard-AIP)Default Column Settings pane.
   • For a specific drawing document, the Edit Parts List dialog box.

   The Parts List Column Chooser dialog box is displayed.

3. In the Available Properties list, select Base Qty and Stock Number, and then click Add.

   Base Qty and Stock Number are displayed in the Selected Properties list.

4. Add or remove other properties you need.
5. Optionally, click Move Down or Move Up to adjust the display order of columns in the parts list.
6. Click OK to close the Parts List Column Chooser dialog box.
7. Optionally, use the Group command to group parts using the Base Qty and Stock Number.
8. When completing all settings, click OK.

Note: When you set Base Qty and Stock Number as key columns to group conduit parts, you may not receive the expected results for the following reasons:

• Each conduit part in the current version of Autodesk Inventor has a unique part number.
• The drawing manager always groups parts using the Part Number property even if you remove it from the parts list.

Add to the Bill of Materials table

1. In the drawing window, right-click a drawing view, a parts list, or the Tube & Pipe Runs assembly or a pipe run within a drawing view. Click Bill of Materials to open the BOM Editor.
2. On the toolbar, click Choose Columns.
3. From within the Customization list, drag Base Qty and Stock Number to the BOM view table head.
4. Click the Customization dialog box.
5. In the BOM Editor, Click Done.
