The Create Beams tool allows you to create beam (1-dimensional) mesh elements. Typically, beams represent runners and cooling circuits on a model.

|---|---|
| Coordinates(x,y,z) | Specifies the coordinates, on the global X, Y and Z axes. You can either enter the coordinates directly, or click in the graphics window to identify the location.
First: Defines the start of the beam. If multiple curves are being defined, Second: Defines the end of the beam. Tip: Activate the mesh node layerTo identify the ends of the beam by selecting existing nodes, ensure the layer containing the mesh nodes is visible, set Filter=Nearest Node below, then click on the required nodes in the graphics window.

| Number of beams: | Allows you to specify the number of beam elements between end points. |
| Automatic apply when selection complete | When this checkbox is activated, the select tool is applied automatically to the chosen elements whenever all inputs have been specified. |

Allows you to simultaneously create a modeling entity and assign properties to it. For example:
In some cases you have the option to Create as modeling entity. No properties will be assigned. This option may be appropriate if, for example, you are creating curves to construct a region. You must assign properties to the region, but you don't need to assign properties to the curves. Note: To change the properties of an entity, click
Change.

| Filter: | The filter helps you select a desired model or mesh entity. When you use a filter, the pointer will snap to the specified entity. |
