Autodesk Moldflow Design Link (Concept)

Autodesk Moldflow Design Link is included in this package and provides a geometry data translation interface to leading CAD systems.

Note:

The first character of the CAD file name must be a letter and not a number.
The file name must consist of letters or numbers, and must not include dashes or any other characters.

When importing a native CAD geometry, you have two options:

Direct Import using Autodesk Moldflow Design Link to import the model in its native format
Process using Autodesk Moldflow Design Link to translate the model.

Note: If you select Process using Autodesk Moldflow Design Link, click Advanced, select Translate surfaces, then click OK.

You can import of the following model formats with Autodesk Moldflow Design Link

Alias (v10 to 2018)	As only solids can be imported using Direct import, use Process using Autodesk Moldflow Design Link to translate Alias surfaces. Important: After meshing the model, we strongly recommended that you perform a series of diagnostic checks, and fix identified problems in order to have a clean model before you run an analysis.

Rhino 5.0	If the model is a solid, use Direct Import using Autodesk Moldflow Design Link to import it as a solid CAD geometry. If the model cannot be imported as a solid, select Process using Autodesk Moldflow Design Link to translate the model. Make sure you select Translate surfaces.
