The default values for global edge length were generally too long. Many users reset this value as a standard practice.
The default Global edge length has been reduced to approximately 2/3 of the previous default value. This has resulted in a better quality mesh. On average the element count has doubled.
Users who reduce the global edge length as a standard practice will have to adjust their practices to obtain the same effect. For example, a reduction to the old default global edge length of 50%, now approximates to a 75% reduction.
