Previously if a CAD mesh fails, it was converted into an STL model and then meshed using the STL mesher.
Users now have the option to bypass this process and specify options such as chord angle, or local area mesh density. When meshing the part with these new specifications, there is generally a better quality mesh than was achieved with the STL mesher.
This option can be found at and select the CAD tab on the Tools panel. Uncheck the Generate mesh via STL if meshing fails option.
