For this release, the induction heating simulation capability has been extended to include microcellular injection molding.
Simulation of induction heating for thermoplastic injection molding was developed in conjunction with RocTool™ for the 2016 release, and added to the suite of heating options for simulating rapid heating and cooling. Since many automotive applications use the RocTool induction heating process with microcellular injection molding to manufacture lighter automotive parts, this release sees the extension of this feature to microcellular materials.
All the results that are produced for thermoplastic injection molding are also generated for microcellular injection molding.
