Setting one-sided constraints

  1. Click (Boundary Conditions tab > Constraints and Loads panel > Constraints > One-sided Constraint).
  2. Orient the model appropriately to see one whole side of the Part Insert (3D) or Core (3D) component.
  3. Select all the locations to be constrained, then set the appropriate translational degree of freedom in all 3 planes and in both the positive and negative directions.
Note: You can set different constraints in each direction. You can also set a specified maximum allowed displacement on each direction.
  4. Repeat the location selection for the areas on the opposite side and set the constraints.
  5. Click (Home tab > Molding Process Setup panel > Process Settings > Advanced options) and click the Edit associated with Solver Parameters.
  6. Select the Core Shift tab and make sure the Perform core shift analysis option is selected.
  7. Click OK several times to exit the Process Settings Wizard.
  8. Click (Home tab > Analysis panel > Start Analysis).
  9. Once the analysis is complete, check the Displacements, core result to view the simulation.
