Subcases for Different Analysis Types

The default contents of the Subcases branch of the model tree depend on the type of analysis. You can add other subcases as needed and rename the subcases. The default sub-entities for the various analysis types are summarized below. In addition to the listed sub-entities, a Results sub-entity exists for all analysis types.

For Static, Linear Buckling, Prestress Static, Linear Steady State Heat Transfer and Nonlinear Steady State Heat Transfer analyses:

Subcases behave differently between linear and nonlinear solution types. Linear subcases are analogous to completely new and different analyses. Nonlinear solutions use the end of the previous subcase as an initial condition for next subcase.
