| E5010 | WARNING: E5010 | ONE OR MORE NON-ZERO DEGREES OF FREEDOM WERE AUTO-CONSTRAINED |
| Cause: | With PARAM, AUTOSPC set to ON, one or more global stiffness matrix diagonal terms with magnitudes greater than zero and less than PARAM, STIFFRATIOTOL (default 1.0E-8) were constrained. | |
| Action: | Check the Grid Point Singularity Table in the Model Results Output File for degrees of freedom that should not be auto-constrained. Normally, zero or near zero stiffnesses may be produced from incomplete elements such as a CQUAD4 which has no vertex drill degree of freedom. Auto-constraint of this type is acceptable and must be carried out to prevent a singularity during stiffness matrix factorization. Larger or negative stiffnesses usually indicates a problem with the model, which should be investigated. For example, if a very large stiffness is specified in one component at a grid point, the other components may be auto-constrained, though this is not the intent. | |
| Remarks: | See Autodesk Nastran User's Guide, Appendix A, Output Formats, for more information about the Grid Point Singularity Table. |
