This example looks at how to avoid clamps when creating toolpaths.

- Select all the surfaces that make up the clamps.

- Click Home tab > Setup panel > Thickness to display the Thickness Preferences dialog.
- Select the thickness set at the top of the list:
- From the Machining Mode list, select Collision.
- Click the Acquire Components
button.
- Click Apply.
- To generate a visual representation of the results, click View tab > Appearance panel > Shade > Boundary Machining Mode.

All toolpaths created for this part avoid the clamps. The clamps are detected and not machined.
