Check system requirements for the extension, download it from the Autodesk App Store, and run the installer.
- The extension installation requires a 64-bit version of Windows.
- The Advance Steel 2018 Extension for Revit is only compliant with Autodesk Revit 2018.
- The Advance Steel Extension for Revit installation routine uses the Autodesk Setup installer.
Install
Download the Advance Steel Extension for Revit installer from the Autodesk App Store, and run the .msi to install it. After the installation is complete, you may need to restart the Autodesk product to activate the extension. When successfully installed, the Advance Steel Extension for Revit panel is displayed on the Add-Ins tab in the ribbon.
Note: The Advance Steel Extension for Revit is available as an English installation only (the content and UI are English only). Also, mapping lines that are available inside the GTCMapping.mdb database point to the English version of the Revit families. If you need to use other specific localized Revit families, you need to manually map the profiles when you import a model in Revit.
To uninstall the Advance Steel Extension for Revit, close the Autodesk product if you are running it:
- Download the installer from the Autodesk App Store, rerun it, and click the Uninstall button.
- Uninstall it from the Windows Control Panel
Programs Programs and Features or Add/Remove Programs, just as you would uninstall any other application from your system.
