Create a custom fill pattern and import it into the project for use in the model.
- Create a custom pattern in a pattern (PAT) file.

Note: Default fill patterns are stored in the
revit.pat and
revit metric.pat files in the following location:
%ProgramFiles%\Autodesk\Autodesk Revit 2018\Data. The
revit metric.pat file contains various metric masonry and iso patterns.
- Click Manage tabSettings panelAdditional Settings drop-down Fill Patterns.
- In the Fill Patterns dialog, under Pattern Type, select Drafting or Model.
- Click
(New fill pattern).
The New Pattern dialog displays.
- For Type, select Custom.
- Click Browse.
- Navigate to and select the pattern file (PAT) to import, and click Open.
- Select the desired fill pattern.
Use Search to quickly locate fill patterns that match a text string. For example,
brick matches Brick Masonry, Brickwork, and Masonry - Brick.
- If desired, enter or modify the pattern name.
- If desired, enter a value for Import scale.
- If you are creating a drafting fill pattern, specify how to orient the fill pattern in the host layers. See
About Fill Pattern Host Orientation for details.
- Click OK twice.
