Add and Edit File Properties for Pro/ENGINEER

Pro/ENGINEER property mappings are based on the Pro/ENGINEER property name.

This means that when you create a user-defined property in Vault with the same name as a Pro/ENGINEER property, that property is mapped and editable inside of Vault or Pro/ENGINEER.

Add a Property to Vault

1. In Pro/ENGINEER, open a Pro/ENGINEER file.
2. Select Tools > Parameters.
3. Create the property “Part_Number” as a string and assign a value to it.
4. Open Vault Explorer and log in as Vault Administrator.
5. Select Tools > Administration > Vault Settings.
6. From the Behaviors tab, select Properties.
7. Create a property named “Part_Number”.
8. Save the settings.
9. Return to Pro/ENGINEER, save the file with the “Part_Number” parameter and check it in.

The file now appears in Vault with the “Part_Number” property

Edit a Property in Vault

1. In Vault Explorer, select a Pro/ENGINEER file.
2. Edit the value of a property for the file and click OK.

The property is updated and the new value is visible from Pro/ENGINEER.
